Inner Harmony Center
Unstuck. Clarity. Harmony.
Ava-Marie Somers, MACP, CCC
Clinical Counsellor / Canadian Certified Counsellor
Professional Overview:
I am a clinical counsellor with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through complex emotional and relational experiences.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing goes beyond repair. The process supports reconnection with the body, meaning, and each person’s capacity for wholeness. Through this process people regain access to inner wisdom and clarity.
Therapeutic Philosophy:
Healing often involves repair. The deeper work focuses on restoring connection to self, body, and meaning. This process supports people in reclaiming clarity, agency, and a sense of internal balance.
Clinical Approach:
My work follows a trauma informed and somatically grounded framework shaped through years of practice in private practice, community care, and healthcare settings.
I integrate evidence based and integrative methods including CBT, DBT, Family Systems work, somatic awareness, and psychoeducation. When relevant, therapy also explores questions of meaning, identity, faith, and spirituality.
How Therapy Works:
I work with intention and discernment. Sessions focus on pacing, safety, and awareness of what the body communicates beneath words.
Therapy involves active collaboration. The process includes clinical feedback and practical exercises that support change outside the session.
Clients encounter reflection, honesty, and safety. This environment supports clarity, even when discomfort arises. Personal agency stays central while the work moves toward greater harmony.
Professional Values:
My work emphasizes careful pacing, emotional safety, and deep listening. Discernment guides the process rather than urgency. The goal involves helping individuals reconnect with their own sense of direction and internal clarity.
Outside the Therapy Room:
I value music, dancing, laughter, and time with people I care about. I grew up in a family where conversation is lively and joy is expressed openly. This sense of aliveness shapes the way I engage with others.
I am playful, expressive, and reflective. I enjoy a good K drama and a competitive game of Scrabble. These everyday moments keep me grounded and influence the way I show up in my work with attentiveness, honesty, and presence.
